Built around the theme "Social Studies: The Heart of the Curriculum", this year's conference will feature a special focus on the position of social studies as the center of the curriculum, touching every other subject area. Social studies is also a primary area for reaching affective goals, which are so crucial in citizenship development. Then, there is the heart that all good social studies teachers bring to their work. NCSS 2005 can help you create effective citizens through more than 300 sessions, workshops, and clinics. Keynote speakers will open your eyes and engage your mind. Hundreds of exhibit booths will showcase the latest products and services for the classroom teacher. And tours will bring the Midwest's history -- and future -- to life. Take this opportunity to meet and share ideas with educators from across the country and around the world. Join your colleagues this November in Kansas City, Missouri.
