Program photo...What is the Program?
It is a 3-year effort to create in rural NW Missouri a core of teachers who have the skills and the contacts necessary to provide support to all who teach their country's story. We will accomplish this by hosting several one-day inservice opportunities per school year, as well as a 3-week summer session each year.

Our first event was a January 31, 2005 workshop.
Teachers in this workshop session gained skills in analyzing a variety of American History primary sources such as documents, posters, editorial cartoons, audio and film recordings, photographs, advertisements, and artifacts. Participants took part in a hands-on experience using primary documents in the post WWII era "Spy's Dilemma" simulation. The skills and knowledge gained by the teachers can be integrated into their classroom teaching.
